Large commercial trucks pulling into your driveway?

We've lived in our house for nether a year and today for the 2d or third time we've had a huge truck pull into our driveway. Chat Icon

Today's was a delivery from Fed Ex. I was shocked when I saw the truck maneuvering to back into my driveway and fifty-fifty more than pizzed when he backed all the way down to my garage. I wanted to become outside ant yell at the driver but it was 8am and I was still in my pj's. On at least one (possibly two) other occasion I had a HUGE 18 wheeler furniture commitment truck likewise dorsum all the style downwards my driveway. At present granted my driveway isn't new, it's blacktop and has a few cracks in it but it's non in atrocious condition. We program to have it redone presently and I'm wondering how to keep these idiots from driving on my driveway, becuase if they fissure it after we spend $$$ I will not be a happy person. Am I unrealistic to be upset about this? Fed ex will be receiving a telephone call from me shortly.

Re: Big commercial trucks pulling into your driveway?

How long is your driveway? I could run across for a large commitment them not wanting to deport the items a couple of hundred feet.

Peapod backs into my driveway all the time, never bothers me.

Re: Large commercial trucks pulling into your driveway?

Are you lot referring to large trucks with stuff for your business firm, or trucks making U-turns in your driveway, but not delivering anything to you?

If they accept stuff for me, I don't mind, merely I don't want them using my driveway for U-turns. They usually just park on the street, though, even for very large items.

Re: Large commercial trucks pulling into your driveway?

Are they pulling in for the purpose of dropping off deliveries for y'all or using your driveway as a turn around?
If the deliveries are for you I would make a request that they non come downwardly the driveway when you schedule them I gauge...if they are using your driveway to turn around in maybe mail a "Private Bulldoze" sign by the entrance.

I've never had it happen simply I would be worried- we take a driveway that curves and so its difficult to back into.

These deliveries are for us. I'thou non sure of the exact length of the driveway but I'd judge it'southward about 50-70 ft and shut to flat. We become lots of deliveries from UPS and they always park on the street, which is why I was shocked to see Fed Ex pull downwardly my driveway. We've besides had many other furniture delieveries and except for these exceptions they park in the street and walk beyond our lawn or utilize the driveway and stairs (either is fine by us!). I guess nosotros're in the minority, but information technology really surprises u.s.a. that these drivers don't realize their huge trucks might crack a driveway.

The items delivered today are lights for our walkway. Not super light simply non refrigerator weight either. DH was able to elevator them without much effort. That bated, these delivery people accept dollies, no?

Re: Large commercial trucks pulling into your driveway?

I didnt realize driveways could non with stand the weight of trucks to exist honest, and assumed their purpose was to be driven on, and then no, I wouldn't retrieve it was weird, I would call back information technology was normal. I'thousand not being condescending either, I am really surprised atthis b/c I never thought well-nigh it. A MAC truck with concrete on information technology possibly, only a commitment truck....my mini van probably
